ARE YOU RESIDENT IN JÁVEA? DO YOU HOLD A SIP CARD? WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE YOUR OWN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR G.P.? PLEASE READ ON:

For everyone who is resident in Jávea, who has access to Internet – and who of course is also entitled to the benefits of the Social Security Health System in Spain with the corresponding S I P Card, you may like to make your very own appointment with your G.P. These simple steps will guide you to book an appointment with your doctor without the tedious procedure of either calling by telephone for an appointment or visiting the “Centro de Salud” … which will inevitably mean you join one of the queues. Read on: 1. Open the web site: SANIDAD 2. Click on the word “Ciudadano”(citizen). 3. Page shows long MENU on the left hand side – look top left and click on the words “Solicitud de Cita” – up pops window, click on “Cita por Internet”. 4. Enter your SIP number in the box required as well as your date of birth in figures and click on “Validar”. 5. Select “Medicina Familiar” and click on “Seleccionar”. 6. A selection (usually 3) of appointments will appear for you to choose as from (“a partir de”) a date, and click on the spot provided by the appointment for the one of your choice and then and add the times between which you would like to see the doctor – for example “09:15” and “11.30” and click on “Aceptar” (accept). 7. A window will then display the name of the doctor, the date and time in figures for you to check and then: A. If the appointment is correct, you must click on “confirmar la cita” (confirm the appointment) and you will see your appointment shown on the screen, then click on “Imprimir” (print) and keep this with you. B. If you have made a mistake or you wish to cancel the appointment you have made, then return to the earlier window and press “anular la cita” (cancel the appointment), and start again. For those of you who feel adventurous and can understand some Spanish, you will notice on the MENU that there are sections which cover the “European Health Card”, as well as the SIP card etc. Add this web site to your favourites: Sanidad Generalitat Valenciana España.
